Hello! We are a family of six from Hamilton, New Zealand who are about set out on the adventure of a lifetime, travelling the world for 12 months on a somewhat modest budget! Life is short and time just seems to go faster and faster as our lives and our children’s lives get ever busier, so we thought it’s now or never!
So, who are we? Children first… Emily (12) is our eldest daughter who loves all things knitting, hiking and camping (she already owns two tents and is the driver behind our Europe camping itinerary!), then we have Lexie (10) who lives for K-pop (BlackPink for life!), animals (mainly dogs) and is most excited about going to big cities (New York and Paris are top of the list), Phoebe (7) is our youngest daughter and is our wild child, full of energy, loves an audience and is obsessed with wildlife and learning about nature! Last but not least is our sweet soul William (4) always on the go and lover of all thing’s dinosaurs and monsters.
We are Dave (44) and Anne (39) just your everyday NZ parents; Anne is a former schoolteacher come recruiter and Dave is an HR professional. We have been inspired by all the other travel families out there to put “normal life” on hold for a year and see where the world takes us – life is short and we want to focus on making memories with our children while they are still young!
